Actually what Susan says may work for small businesses as long as their reputation is attacked by some similar-sized business.

On the other hand, if a huge organization criticizes you, then you need something more than face-saving measures in search engines. As a matter of fact, social media should also be cleansed from negative spots. This might seem easy, but professional experts can help although it's not as easy as it's mentioned in Google's blog.

Google is vastly understating what it takes to protect your reputation on their search engine. I setup a Google profile and loaded it with links and it still has not appeared in search results 4 weeks later. On the other hand some fake poster puts false, libelous comments on Rippoff Report and appears next to your product or service in 30 minutes. Try and get it pushed down!
