Jason got it. In the post, the school demonstrates that it saved real money:

“Those things aren’t cheap when you start with 50 students times $10 for this bill or $20 for this trip to Waynesborough to do the ropes course. We’ve stopped it because we’ve found,they’re like ‘we already know everybody.”

They were abel to cancel events they previously scheduled as a result of socializing new students via facebook.

Further, they were able to take the time previously spent on planning event and dedicate it to other activities. I’m comfortable with the facts as they are written in the post.

I take issue with both: I think ROI needs to real return.
I also think if you look deeper you’d see that the results are a lot more difficult to measure then it appears.

Can you explain this statement further – “seriously, there is no such thing as ROI from a Facebook Page.”

As I understood it, the school invested time in setting up the facebook page and in changing their orientation process. They found that this shift in processes allowed them to save money that they were previously spending on other orientation activities.

Are you taking issue with the use of the term ROI — i.e. cost savings does not equal return on investment? Or are you arguing that this shift in process did not produce tangible, measurable results?

Right Giovanni, cause your 15 years of experience should count for something when you write crap. Actually, if after 15 years you write crap, you should be held more accountable than a newbie writing crap

Either refute the claims with some facts and data or just go back to counting your years of experience.
