@The Caller: Never, ever click on an “unsubscribe” link from a spammer (you didn’t subscribe in the first place). It merely confirms that your address is active and allows them to sell your info as a premium mark.

I just got an email from these people. I had a similar email from another company and declined because they wanted to change my content entirely. I send a very aggressive price to them and wanted to know the exact html they wanted to use.

I’ve just received one of these from “Brooke Allen”, with an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Needless to say, I clicked on that rather than replying.

We’ve had various emails, Vanessa Lane, Belle Parker and Jewel Lewis. I’m not sure they are a scam, since they already have paid for links. They do however have contacted us separately, so that’s kind of strange to me anyway. It’s easy money when you consider it, but if it’s against Google’s policy we might want to remove the links.

However, how will Google know that you have been paid to insert a certain link? Should we add the ‘no-follow’ to the links just to be sure? We never signed any agreement and already have been paid.

Why are they spam? Let me count the ways:

1. Lots of emails from a bogus person (I know this because I receive many from them).

2. When you respond to their email, answers take 1-2 weeks for a single reply.

3. Their website works sporadically

4. Their website has no contact information except for an 800 # that goes straight to a voicemail with an Indian accent.

I’m with Sturdy on this; seems above board but my concern is whether I’ll upset the Google bunch if I accept an ad from Better Link Advertising. It’s sure not the first time I’ve been asked for a cheap rate, and there’s nothing wrong with that except I’m tired of the entire planet talking about it’s lousy budget. No-one wants to pay for anything these days!

Just got two of these from “Catherine Walker” and “Jewel Lewis” – the names are always just a little improbable, I somehow can’t imagine someone called Catherine Walker pimping Pagerank links for a living. As a poster above notes, stipulating you will add the nofollow attribute to the link pretty much guarantees they won’t respond.

For those not bothered about their google rank it’s easy pocket money, but as ever just reduces the value of your own and others hard work.

I appreciated finding this information as “Belle Parker” had contacted us. We are a Child Safety group and they asked for ” a small piece of real estate ” on our site for another safety group. Since I know most of the people in this field, I asked which group. She never got back to us.

I just got this same email. It is funny because paid links that pass pagerank area big no-no for google, PERIOD.

If anyone reported them, they would be in big trouble.

That is interesting though that it is really Geary, and they are trying to pretend to be another company.
